any words on the release date for this feature packed beast?
Well the Korean date is somewhere in the middle of November. As Cowon ships their products abroad really quickly and the fact that they need to get rid of the DMB because that doesn't work outside of Korea, i would say that it would probably be out in december-early January.
Note this is just a guess. We might see this player at CES in January and so more info may come then or sooner.
They didn't get rid of the DMB on the A2...

and we in germany now also have DMB....in most of the heavy populated centers!!!!

The DMB on A2 was and upgrade with "firmware" and you need a little "subpack" or something on A2's side to use DMB i think. Or?
And i think D2 got inbuilt DMB
It should be available to overseas markets at the start of next year hopefully. As far as I know, Cowon is planning to strip the DMB feature from overseas markets, which is a great idea since it's no good to us!
I can't wait anymore. I want this player now!

well in canada this fall a store finally started selling iaudio 6's so I think I'll need to wait about 6-8 months before the d2 is available.
They didn't get rid of the DMB on the A2...
I mean that the dmb doesn't work outside of Korea. Also the D2 has built in DMB and uses thee headphones as antenna (like FM Radio) and so they have to take it out.

I think we have to wait a little longer. THe FCC has to approve it and the FDA has to approve as well. Realistically we can hope to have it somewhere between july and November of next year. Sorry to spoil it for you guys. I purchased a Sharp MD player a few years back. It was not approved for sale in the US so I looked into it and found the FDA (yeah you heard me) never tested the health effects of the laser used in the player / recorder. Go figure! So yeah....i'd say September the earliest.

Considering they've had a working model for some time now, it can't be too long until it's out. Also Cowon has been good about releasing players quickly after they've been announced. Delays are expected, but Q3 2007 is ridiculous.

i hope it's not to long but......we'll see. I have someone at work has asked her sister in Korea to pic one up for me. Hope she does.

Excellent. Would you be willing to ship to Aussie? MP3 Direct (probably was the biggest MP3 player online site in Australia) just shutdown without warning. This will more likely be the cheapest and fastest way to get hold of one.
we may be able to.. I'll have to find out from Cowon what the policy is on that, as I know that the Australian distributor has exclusive rights to distribute Cowon over there.. can't see it being a big problem though - if you can't get it there, you might as well get it from us =)

LOL, Cowon isnt that slow any more. I expect that the D2 will be in USA by end of January too. Unless they screw up ...
I hope that in Jenaury it will be in Europe too..better if even in Italy ;P..but it surely will not sold in Italy...
The Release date in Sweden/scandinavia is The 10.th January :) So happy!

That's cool. Did you know the the 2 largest consumers of electronic devices (TV's, DVD, Stereo, Cameras, PC's........etc) is Japan and USA? So....how does companies like Cowon release their products to Asia and the USA last after Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, scandinavia, Australia... etc. Either way ...i'll tell you how...regulations

Where have you heard it's 12th of january? I sure hope that's the date cause it won't take long to come to the Netherlands then.
Dont know the date when it will come to netherland but Cowon (so a pretty "reliable voice" i think ^_^) said me with an email it will come in Netherland in Jenuary if you or someone is interested...
Cowon support service is really great..they answer to everything...

Cowon will make the D2 available to all of it's distributors world-wide at the same time, at the start of January.. it's then up to the distributors to get it into the country when they think their markets are ready. We'll definitely get them here as soon as we can!
I'd say since Cowon America is actually a division of Cowon, not an independant distributor, they'll have it straight away.
Yeah, I agree with you blairh, but the problem is that Cowon America haven't even managed to get the F2 onto Amazon yet ... they really are taking their time about it ...

I contacted Cowon America yesterday about my broken X5 and as an after thought asked them about the D2 and they said sometime after January. So ..... am I to assume that it will not be in January? Or begining January and beyond? Here's hoping it's january.
if you wanna know the release date just send a message to the place who is responsible to order the iAUDIO's in your country.

I sent a mail to mp3spelers.nl and they replyed that the Cowon D2 will be available at the beginning of january. The price will be € 229.00 for the 2GB model. I asked them when the 4GB will be available and I will post when it will be available.

it cost around 200€ for 2 gb in sweden and 250€ for 4 gb in sweden.

They changed the noreve case to optional so It's without the noreve case. It is indeed expencive in the Netherlands. I think that's cause of the taxes.

Ok the 4GB version wil be available a month later for about 30 -40 more expensive. I really don't like that so I'm considering to buy it somewhere else. That will probably be in another country. so if anyone sees the D2 on a site please tell me.

Sorry but i just got the information from iAUDIO Sweden, No shop has information about the player yet.

Looks like the most shops in the Netherlands have got the wrong info. They say it has got 47mW + 47mW (instead of 37mW) and 45 hours of audio playback (instead of 52).
I've got another question: does anyone know if they have got an video cable with it? Because dutch shops say they are optional. But the korean site says the tv-out cable is in the package.

You have to buy the Video Cable and the other informations was the old.

No i didn't saw any shops that sells 4gb D2 in jenuary..
PS: it's not so good if tv-out cable, line-in cable & line-in cable converter are all optional...it makes the price grow really fast to have everything you need to use at 100% the D2...

I think it does provide an line in cable and converter.
mm don't know because if it is sure that the tv out cable is optional maybe are optional also the line in cables because on the korean product page of the D2 package i see the same words in ( )...but i don't know korean [rolleyes]
