I really like this player. It is literally one of the smallest, coolest, easiest to use gadget in my gadget chest...

however...

My unit requires me to use the reset button often.

Before you inquire... I make sure the 'hold' lever is off...

After a reset things seem to work just fine, my question to the user community.. "Is this normal?" I have not owned a flash MP3 player so maybe this is common but it seems odd to me that you would need to carry paper clips around with you to operate an MP3 player.

Yeah, I needed to reset mine too, but so far, only when transferring files to/from it. I'm guessing it's either bad flash memory or a problem with the firmware that hopefully they will fix. Since I only transfer files at my home PC, finding a paper-clip (or mechanical pencil, in my case) isn't too tough. But yeah, it should be easier to hard-reset the U2, IMO...maybe an option where pressing all the main buttons at once causes a hard-reset?

Maybe it's because I'm using the 1.04 firmware...hopefully the 1.10 firmware fixes these issues...too bad I can't read kanji...gotta wait for international version.

The Korean Firmware doesn't change the language in the menus. Only some of the default settings are changed such as charachter support and FM Radio Region.

Sweet, I'll give it a shot then. I'm a little concerned at the firmware version details screen (USB Mass Storage and Player versions are listed as 999.999.999, Resource Manager version is listed as 000.000.000), but hopefully it'll work okay.

Edit: looks like it worked just fine. I like the new menu options. So far, no errors in transferring files, either (not that they happened often with the previous BIOS).

Just an update...

Odd... I haven't had to reset this beauty in over 2 days.. Working great now.

I noticed that if I turned it on 'before' I connected to USB, then I did not have to reset.

Don't know if this helps anyone else, and it may not be why mine is working fine now but thats my story, and I'm stickin to it.
