jerryparid (http://iaudiophile.net/forums/showpost.php?p=97509&postcount=4) made a post in another topic about how the CX 300 doesn't affect the ears while sleeping. Now, a quick search on amazon shows some pictures, but I was wondering if anyone had both of these pairs of headphones and if they wouldn't mind taking pictures of them side by side... (Amazon's picture doesn't do either of the headphones enough justice, and there aren't any measurements of headphone sizes)
I currently have a Sennheiser MX 500 which I sometimes use to sleep (it's a little bit of an annoyance sleeping on my side, but it's alright compared to noisy room mates), and I was wondering the sizes between the CX 300 and the E3...
Feel free to murder me (since I totally didn't do a search), but I highly doubt this has been posted before....
I've been searching through other forums, but the problem still remains, since the pictures in question may not be the actual sizes... (what with zoomed in functions on cameras these days and the lack of other objects to compare it to.)
X_X
please and thanks in advance!

I have the MX500 and the CX300. Would you like a picture of them side-by-side. I'll have to find my MX500's first though, so no promises.

Yes, I'd love to get a picture of that... that'd get half of this topic done, lol.
Now... for the Shure e3s... that's going to be another story, unfortunately.
Ideally, I would like to get the MX500, CX 300, and the Shure e3c-n headphones all lined up, but I highly doubt that'll happen, so I'll take what I can get!
Thanks a bunch.

Have you tried look at the manufacturer's websites? You can get a pretty good idea of what they look like there. The reason the backend of the CX300 don't rub up against the pillow is because you insert them down into the ear canal (like foam ear plugs). However, because of this, rubbing or tapping of headphones that get inserted into the ear can be heard, whereas this isn't really a problem with standard earbuds (like the MX500).

Just click the zoom button and use two browsers side by side.

I know, I know - I did that all last night. If the manufacturer would put up pictures of them lying flat, this wouldn't be much of a problem. But the thing is, one of the headphones are at an angle, so that makes things a bit harder.
You could argue that I can just guesstimate it, but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Besides, what I'm truly looking for are side by side pictures of the Sennheisers and the Shures.... *shrugs*
oh well, whatever.
Thanks for the links, regardless.

Cool, i'm just thinking that side by side might still be misleading. The CX300 are longer on the axis, but they still don't stick out of your ear as much.

This is the only thing that pisses me off about online shopping. You can't try before you buy, and prices come and go faster than a fat man eating cake...

Yeah, amazon changes the CX-300 silver's price more than Guns 'n Roses changes band members.

Meh, I said that you can't feel the wires. Of course, you'll still feel the bud.....

ehhhh. I was pondering about that, since I looked at the many pictures online and noticed the headphone cable backing being completely straight... but I guess you may have made the final decision for me with that comment...
'cause that was the one main thing I was holding out for... I don't know. Hopefully the user above will get me some pictures before the end of this week. If not, I'll just go ahead and place that order for the Shure e3c-n's....[biggrin]

Actually, I notice a significant difference between earbuds and IEMs in bed. Of course you're going to feel the bud inside your ears, it's an ear plug that makes a seal, but I don't feel it rubbing up against my pillow, like I do with almost every bud.

wait, would that be in reference to the CX 300, the e3c-n, or just ALL IEMs in general?

CX300 are the only IEMs I have experience with.

well then, that's a sort of biased view on things, isn't it? [laugh]

Um, I don't think so. What's the bias exactly? I was trying to compare the difference between the CX300 and standard earbuds that don't go in your ear canal. I never directly addressed any other IEMs. I'm failing to understand that comment. I've used the CX300 and I've used several different ear buds while in bed.

oh, ok. Never mind. I probably wasn't in the right state of mind when I wrote that (as I had just woken up)... sorry about that.
