View Full Version : Reformatting
i wanna reformat my X5...im not sure if i got batt problems or software prob. cause since ived installed the last firmware from cowon, everytime the HD runs, like if i click on a file n the hour glass appears the batt meter drops 2 levels then goes back up wen its already playin, n now i get a very poor battery life, specially on shuffle mode when the HD keeps on switchin files. Anyway is there a way to fix this? or will reformattin the unit resolve ma prob? may i know how to reformat ma X5,cause there is no service center here at Manila. Thanks in advance pipz![yes] Btw removed the latest firmware n replaced it with ver 2.10e but almost da same prob.

That means nothing. It happens to me too. Sometimes I think we'd all be better if they just got ride of the battery meter. They suck, they aren't accurate, it's just a problem with the alogrithm, its averaging is short, it thinks your power demands are going to be that high for a second then realizes not and so it's just between two buckets and flips back and forth between them. Ignore it. I have never noticed any difference between the cowon firmwares when it comes to battery lfie.

I am trying to reformat and now have a super clean IAUDIO directly. Where do I find the original files and folders to reload?
The folders are recreated when you first boot the X5 after formatting (this should really be in a FAQ by now...) However, the folders won't appear when using the X5 unless there are files in playable formats within those folders.
