Hey, any of you ordered iAudio 5 from suntec? If so, did you already recieve it? When are you supposed to?

i don't have an answer for you..but i have another question about suntec. Does that armband that they say fits most mp3 players and shows up as suggested to buy with the I5 fit the I5 with the standard I5 case?

ok thanks. It doesn't look as nice as the one on the iaudio site, i wonder if there's really a difference...it calls it a iaudio armband though, so maybe its just not really the one in the picture. Let me know if the armband has the iaudio logo on it.

let me know when you get it if its an iaudio armband. The one on the iaudio site just looks so much nicer than the picture of the one on the suntec site, but i think they might be the same, just a generic picture on the suntec site.

Suntec is really good at replying, if you e-mail them you should get a reply within a day, if it's on a weekday at least. so don't be afraid to ask them directly.

yeah i e-mailed them and they said yes it is an iaudio armband, which is good news. The website also says that its a limited time thing that they offer the armband free with 1GB player purchase, is this true? or just marketing

i bought it on wednesday, and when I e-mailed in my discount stephanie said that it would ship Friday or Monday since they were sold out, but I asked a questions a little later and she answered and then said my player should ship in 12 hours, which would have been like early thursday....So i'm actually not sure, but maybe I got one of the last ones

She told me the last 50 they had, one of which was mine which i ordered monday, shipped Thursday. You get another e-mail from suntec when your order ships so thats how you know for sure it shipped.

Great service from Stephanie, but they ought to mention on the site that customers will receive a followup email with tracking # once order ships.

I ordered last Friday and received shipping confirmation yesterday. I probably won't see it until Monday. *counting the days*

I had to wait a week for it to ship. At least you're in the queue. ;) Stephanie was probably a little too optimistic when she said Thursday for your Monday order.

They offer the best price and are 1 of the few distributors of Cowon in the U.S.

Just relax. I received my U2 player from them exactly 24 hours after I had placed an order for it, and I'm in Canada. This was this past week. I know that they've been dealing with slow shipments of stock from IAudio to them, which is out of their control. Suntec's service is excellent, I don't think there's any reason to doubt that they'll get it to you as soon as they can.

When I ordered on Wednesday, Stephanie said Monday earliest for my 1GB I5...so, we're looking at Wednesday or Thursday latest, hopefully. So far, w/the free expedited shipping, $10 off, and free armband, Suntec is by far best deal for money. Can't wait to get the player....

So, first things first, fflakes! Whatchoo think of the battery cover?

Well I posted some thoughts a couple days ago.

"Hey, I just got my I5 (YESSSSS)! I checked the battery cover and I had assumed that the hinge would be plastic. However, it seems to be make up of copper or something metallic and it has a smooth feel when opening and closing.

Now I really like my I5 definitely the color screen gimmick. I really enjoy looking at it while changing music or such, and if I get tired of a color I can adjust to some other bizzare color.

The jog dials rebound nicely and pressing it isn't as hard as I thought, since it feels like there's a slot for pushing it straight in. The only thing I may complain about is that it's a bit thick, but then that's due to the plastic cover that has a clear layer and white layer inside that's what makes the player so cool, so I don't mind it.]

Also, the note about the line in slot getting dusty - the case that comes with the player blocks the port so if you don't use it normally, it should be fine.

Another gripe I have is that suntec didn't ship my armband with my player :\ Hopefully they can fix that soon."

Yeah they included a note in mine saying they will soon be shipping my free armband, due to them being so popular.

i hope my armband comes with the player, or at least soonafter, I really want it for running. Its good of them to ship two items instead of waiting for the armbands though.

Yea the jogdial itself seems pretty sturdy. The only problem I have with it is that they are both similar and I have to think a bit about which one i'm pressing based on orietation if i'm pressing it in my pocket. I'm gonna try if i can tell it apart based on the location of the headphone.

Check your package carefully, I almost threw away my armband since its separate from the player box, and comes in a small plastic bag.

I find myself listening to more music because i don't put on whole album folders from my computer(like i did with my m3) but rather individual files so its like the ipod shuffle concept except with a screen and great quality ogg music!

I like it that way too, raf1005 - I just download inidividual songs (maybe no more than three from each artist), that way it really keeps me guessing.

I'm kind of worried becuase it says signature required...and i e-mailed them and told them not to do that becuase i'm in the dorms and there's really no way i can provide a signature, but hopefully they'll figure it out

Do you guys know if the version of jetaudio that you can download for free is the same as the one that comes with the player?

Hmm, sometimes the school mailroom will take another day themselves to process the package (in my college anyways). So you may have to wait another day even though it came. Of course, you can goto the mailroom and beg for them to dig it out...

yeah, if it comes tommorow it'll be perfect though, last midterm is tommorow, get my player and then party it up! But as long as it comes by friday so i don't have to wait another full weekend becuase they aren't open on weekends I won't be too mad.

This is how it was for me. Lazy postman didn't even attempt a delivery to my apt. as far as I can tell (found the delivery notice in the mailbox later well after the post office had closed). But the situation has improved now because it's been in my hands since Monday morning.

In summary, It's pretty sweet! My Sony MDR-7504 foldover headphones sound much better than the included buds (but are not as portable). One negative pt: the audio output can distort on the lower end if you enable too many efx and increase the bass in the EQ by too much (takes some experimentation and is a minor complaint). With ogg @ q0, I was able to fit almost 34 albums on here! One thing I'll have to remember next time is to FLAC my rips, then use either replaygain or wavgain to normalize before I encode to ogg...Some albums are mastered so hot that the resulting ogg files have digital clipping! Not had a chance to check the recording feature (and I'm really curious how the compressed WAV @ 32 kbps does w/ line in). Mebbe sum pix and further commentary later but I'm currently trying 2 get over an elbow injury (lateral epicondylitis aka tennis elbow...I may need to get corticosteroid injections as this prob has been w/ me off and on for almost 3 years...currently the worse it's ever been!)

Has anyone here from europe ordered from suntecint? Im curies about the VAT and duty. I live in Sweden and VAT is 25% and duty is 3.5%.

However Stephanie (owner of suntecint) claims that it's shipped with an invoice that claims it to be a electronic part of the value $19. Im not certain however it will pass customs problem free. This would mean that it would be duty-free.

So has anyone from Europe dealt with suntecint?

Yo tengo mi I5 encargado a Suntec. No te cobran IVA ni ninguna tasa porque te lo envian con una factura de 19 euros como si fuese un regalo. Lo que pasa es que no sé que movida ha pasado ocn los distribuidores europeos que se han quejado y parece ser que Suntec ya no va a hacer más envios de IAudio a Europa por ahora.
Un saludo y no lo dudes, es un reproductor impresionante.
