Hi all,

I am thinking of buying an A2, but have odd need that will probably cost me through the nose.

As a Mac-lover, for video and mp3 player I would buy one of the new video iPods when they are out (hopefully) next year, but as a journalist I also need a unit that can be used as a dictaphone and the audio files transfered to my Mac. An iPod is good for this too... but... I have a problem. [biggrin]

I need to connect whatever unit I buy to a telephone so that I can record telephone interviews. I know the Cowon A2 has a line-in port... can it be used to hook-up to a phone (landline or mobile, or even better, both)?

If so, what cables would I need and how much will the darn things cost me. The A2 looks really cool (I want one! [wink] ) but it is a very expensive purchase if I get it and find I can't record phone conversations (am reluctant to simply record it off loudspeaker on a landline phone or mobile due to pooey quality).

If anyone can help me with these Qs... errr... I'd be really happy.

Cheers

Dunx

the a2 can record from any analog audio source (stereo) through its 3.5mm line-input port.

keep in mind that most cell phones have a 2.5mm input/output port (mono) for an earphone/mic, so you may need to use a splitter and adapter to connect the phone with the A2 while you are chatting... as you would for any recording device.

Many thanks, Austinv... that's a great help!

If you know of anywhere I can order such a "splitter" and adaptor online (I'm British but live in Hungary), could you post me a link?

Again, many thanks [thumbsup]
